Dr. Jason Marano is a native of New Jersey, having resided in central New Jersey for 26 years. He completed his undergraduate and graduate schooling at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. He relocated for his veterinary training to Ocala, Florida where he attended the University Of Florida College Of Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville. In 2011 Dr. Marano graduated magna cum laude with a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He then completed his training while participating in an internship program in small animal medicine and surgery at the prestigious Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Red Bank, New Jersey.
Although New Jersey was familiar, following his internship Dr. Marano returned to his home in Ocala, Florida to work at a small animal veterinary hospital for almost three years. Dr. Marano and his family now reside in Sarasota after moving from Ocala. He has continued to hone his skills, practicing medicine at a high volume successful small animal hospital in Sarasota prior to deciding to branch off on his own and open Marano Animal Hospital.
Dr. Marano is happily married to his wife Michelle for over 10 years, has two young daughters, Alexia and Ariahna, and a small rescue Yorkie named Foster that he nursed back to health when he was a puppy. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing and coaching soccer and practicing karate for which he and his mother had been training for over 25 years and he was a former member of the USA National Karate Team. Dr. Marano has had the opportunity to travel all over the United States for regional and national karate competitions and has even competed numerous times on the international level throughout Europe and Central America.
Mr. Edmund Marano originally resided in Brooklyn, New York, but spent the majority of his professional career in central New Jersey. His college education was at Long Island University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. He furthered his education by also earning a Master of Science degree from the same university. Following his education, Mr. Marano was employed for four years as a teacher for the New York Board of Education.
Although he enjoyed his time as a teacher, Mr. Marano shifted his focus to the retail automotive industry where he managed, developed and delivered training seminars for retail dealerships, internal corporate employees of automotive importers Mercedes-Benz of North America and BMW of North America. During his time with Mercedes and BMW, from 1979 to 2004, Mr. Marano worked at both the regional and national levels in human resources, retail operations, service, and business development. He developed numerous training programs, presented and facilitated leadership and skills training programs to both dealership and corporate team members throughout the country.
Mr. Marano retired from BMW of North America in 2004 and returned to his roots as a teacher, when he took a position as an Associate Professor at Rutgers, The State College of New Jersey’s, in the Business Department. This position allowed Mr. Marano to achieve one of his lifelong dreams, which was to teach at the collegiate level. He truly loved teaching business courses to his college students and felt that this was a high point in his professional life and a fitting conclusion to his 35 year career. He is excited to once again utilize his knowledge and years of experience in management by helping his son (Dr. Marano) achieve one of his life dreams, of owning a veterinary hospital.
Meet our current veterinary practice manager, Brittany, an experienced professional with a decade of dedication to the care and welfare of animals. Brittany’s passion for animals began at a young age, and she has devoted her career to helping to provide the best possible care for all animals. With her experience and exceptional skills, Brittany is responsible for the overall management of our practice, ensuring that we provide the highest quality of veterinary care and services.
Brittany’s love for animals extends beyond her professional life. She is a proud cat mom to Doc and Thor and enjoys spending her free time cooking and tinkering with cars. She also has a special place in her heart for Colorado, where she loves to vacation and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
As a valuable member of our team, Brittany brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our practice. Her commitment to excellence and passion for animals make her an invaluable asset to our organization.
