Wellness Club

By

Dogs and cats age far quicker than humans, it is even more crucial for our companion animals to receive regular examinations. We have all heard the rule of thumb that dogs age 5-7 years for 1 human year… therefore an annual comprehensive wellness exam means that your pet has not been seen for 5-7 years!  That is why we have created our wellness club.  The club is designed so that we could see your pet every 6 months to perform a comprehensive wellness exam and diagnostic testing to establish a baseline for your pet and to spot possible issues earlier in their development.  There are no membership fees or monthly payments, but there is an overall cost savings of greater than $200 a year in examinations and diagnostic testing fees as a club member.

The wellness club schedule begins with your pet’s comprehensive wellness examination, vaccinations, fecal, deworming and heartworm test which would be part of a conventional standard pet care for members and non-members.  The benefit of the wellness club is the second “COMPLIMENTARY” comprehensive wellness exam 6 months later, as well as a complete diagnostic testing panel at a “DISCOUNTED” affordable price (see below).  This now allows us to examine your pet twice a year and monitor their internal organs and metabolic health while saving money!

Puppy and Kitten Care

By

Adopting a puppy or kitten is an exciting time but can also be very stressful and lead to a variety of questions. The first step in this adventure is to schedule a health exam with us so that we can ensure your loved one is healthy and help answer any questions.  During the visit we will conduct a comprehensive wellness exam and also discuss and educate you about topics such as:

  • Spaying/Neutering
  • Vaccinations
  • Nutrition
  • Exercise
  • Training
  • Monthly preventatives
  • Dental care

Puppies and kittens have very different needs and requirements during the first year of their lives compared to adult dogs or cats.  To help highlight and focus on their needs we have created a puppy and kitten club.  This club is designed to outline the schedule of visits and services necessary to keep your puppy or kitten developing normally and healthy. *

*No membership or signup fees. This is an educational club to help your developing puppies and kittens.

As part of the puppy and kitten club you will receive a complimentary health portfolio to track your loved one’s growth, vaccinations and development, as well as the first dose of heartworm and/or flea prevention for free.  You will also be given any informational handouts necessary to help relieve your worries and stresses associated with being a new parent.

Adult Care

Dogs and cats require at least one comprehensive wellness exam every year. Preventative health allows us to establish a baseline for your pet and to spot possible issues earlier in their development. If we do find any potential health problems, it is much easier (and more cost effective!) to treat them as early as possible. This goes a long way in making sure your pet stays happy, healthy and by your side for years to come!

During your dog or cat’s checkup, we will examine your pet’s different bodily systems to make sure everything is functioning properly. We will weigh your pet to make sure there haven’t been any unnoticed changes. We will examine your pet’s eyes, ears and nose for any signs of irritation, discharge, or other signs of illness. We will check your pet’s mouth and teeth for signs of tartar, redness, and other symptoms of oral diseases. We will listen to your pet’s lungs and heart for signs of problems, and will examine your dog or cat’s abdomen and joints.

Keeping your pet vaccinated is a crucial component of preventative health care. With vaccines, we have an easy way of immunizing your pet from dangerous health afflictions.  Dogs and cats each have “core vaccinations” (which are always strongly recommended) and “non-core vaccinations” (which are recommended due to certain lifestyles and environmental risks). We will be able to advise you on which vaccinations your pet should have, and will help you schedule their regiment.

Along with the comprehensive wellness exam and vaccinations, your pet will also be checked for intestinal parasites by a fecal analysis, prophylactically dewormed, and checked for heartworms through a blood test.

Because you spend the most time with your pet, you are your pet’s expert, as well as his or her greatest advocate. Please let us know if you’ve noticed any physical or behavioral changes in your pet, as well as any other concerns you might have.
